Among the reports of the Society in 1761, occurs the following; "Second Sunday in October, 1761, the Rev. Mr. Dibble preached at the opening of St. George's church, North Castle. Mr. St. George Talbot, the pious and noble benef\ictor was present, and was highly pleased with the number and devout behaviour of the people. The same day, Mr. Dibble baptized thirteen inumts, and one adult.

Rev. George Dibble and St. George Talbot, Esq. Of the latter gentleman, Mr. Dibble thus writes to the Society : " He is indefatigable in his endeavors to serve the interests of true religion and our holy church, whose services 1 find universally acceptable, and his life agreeable to his public character. He was (continues Mr. Dibble) surprised both at the number and devout behaviour of the people at North Castle^ for the church could not contain them," ^fcc*

St. George's church, which had stood for nearly eighty years in the Episcopal burying ground, was dismantled in 1S39, and sold at public auction for the sum of forty dollars.^
