Send a Tip or Request a Fact-Check
Know something Croton-on-Hudson residents should know about? See a claim on social media or in the news that doesn't sound right? We want to hear from you.
What you can send us:
- News tips — something happening in the village, schools, or local government that we should cover
- Fact-check requests — a Facebook post, news article, Substack editorial, flyer, or public claim you'd like us to verify
- Corrections — something we got wrong in an article (we take accuracy seriously)
- Documents — public records, meeting materials, or other evidence that supports a story
How we handle submissions:
- Tips are confidential by default — contact information is optional, and we never publish or share who sent a tip. (Like any website, our server briefly logs IP addresses — deleted within about a day; see the privacy policy for exact retention.)
- We verify before publishing — submissions inform our reporting, not replace it
- We protect sources — we never reveal who sent a tip without permission
- Fact-checks cite primary sources with footnotes so you can verify our work too
