1778 Ordered that the said Thomas Anderson be Closely June 16. confined -- and that the Treasurer pay to the said Cloude Van Deusen and William Beacraft £Ar „o„o for their Expence and Trouble in apprehending the said Thomas Anderson according to their Account delivered in -- 1

James Farguson who was last Night apprehended by the City Guard was brought before the Board and we having examined him and finding that he has no Pass and appears to be a suspicious Person Ordered therefore that the said James Farguson be closely confined -- Adjourned until 9 OClock to Morrow Morning

Major John Van Renselaer appeared before the Board and informed that he had found at the House of the Widow Johnson Scarlet Cloack 8c 2 Shirts Marked H V R [74]

the Property of his Father Henry Van Renselaer and also 1 Black Silk Gown which was given him by One Townsend and also informed that One of the Shirts which his Father had given his Receipt for did not belong to him and that he was willing to deliver it up when called for -- A certain Gillmore who was some Time since confined for travelling without a Pass and appearing to be a suspicious Person was brought before us and we having examined him have thought proper to permit him to enlist in the Continental Service -- David Michael of the Manor of Renselaerwyck who was The original voucher is in Revolutionary Manuscripts, vol. 40, p. 163, State Comptroller's office, signed " Gloudey Vandeusen."
