Pipe Chamber — F.B. Tower (1843)

Tower's engineering plate showing a pipe chamber along the Croton Aqueduct. These underground chambers housed the valves and connections that controlled the flow of water through the system. Tower's detailed architectural illustrations were both artistic and technically accurate.
