Lewis Morris the eldest son was judge of the high court of admiralty and one of the judges of oyer and terminer, he died in 1762, aged sixty-four years. By his last will, dated Nov. 19lli, 1760, he devised "all that part of Morrisania situated west of the Mill brook to his eldest son Ijewis Morris." "To his wife the land whereon his house stands west of the Mill brook." Slaats Long Morris, the father of General Staats Long Morris who married Catharine, the celebrated Duchess of Gordon, and Richard Morris, judge of (he high court of admiralty in 1776.
