In the Lieutenant-governor's Ues(>at<'h to the Eiirl of Dartmouth, dated on the first of February, 1775, it is stated that the Call of the House referred to was made on a Motion offered by the minority of the House, for what was supposed would be beneficial to its purposes ; and when it is remembered that the majority already pos»i'SS«'d the cimtrol of whatever was brought forward, it will be seen that that majority not only had no occasion to make such a Call, but. also, that, when it consented that such a '* Call " should be made, it had entire confidence in its continued supremacy, even when the entire strength of each of the two factions should have been brought into the House, an instance of its temerity which, very nearly, became disastrous to it.
