Budd asked Pinekney if he knew^ " who those neighbours were ; he answered that one "of them was William Lounsberry - and one, Isaac " Gedney, Junr., and all Sutton's men, alluding to "some hired servants of Sutton's ; ' that Pinekney " said he came as a friend, and advised Mr. Budd to " keep out of the way, for that he did not think it safe " for him to sleep in his house, one night. Mr. Budd "further says that he heard that Godfrey Haines said " that he was going to get a parcel of Gars made for "the man of war; that Haines came to iMamaroneck, "and that the next day, Isaac Gedney set about mak- " ing Oars; that they were making (as Budd uiider- " stood) by Haines's order, for Capt.
