The Commissioners being again assembled on the 13"" and 14"" points of reference, pursuant to the resolution of the 11"" instant, report, that before they can determine to express their opinion, the Chambers ought categorically to declare whether they will obey and execute the resolutions adopted on the 5"" and 7"" of July last respecting New Netherland; whereupon, question being put, the deputies from the Chamber of Zealand declared, that they are instructed not to consent to the contribution of any money for the benefit of the aforesaid New Netherland ; but it may be inquired how such might be eflected on certain conditions to be considered; the Company reserving to itself the supreme authority. Those of Amsterdam, Maese and the North Quarter declare, that their Chambers are ready to and will execute the resolutions of the 5"" and 7"" of July aforesaid; those of the city of Groeningen and Ommelanden (say) the circumstances of their Chambers do not admit of furnishing any money at present for New Netherland, but that their intention would truly agree with that of Zealand. The Commissioners having heard this declaration, further report that they are of opinion, that the dissenting (dificulterende) Chambers shall declare whether they will abstain from all

interference with New Netherland, and leave the management, on such plan as they may

determine to enact, to those who shall carry out the resolutions, without meddling with that country again in case the condition of affairs there may hereafter improve. The deputies from Zealand, being requested, have undertaken to communicate further with their principals hereupon, in order to be prepared to-morrow, and those of Stadl en Landen will inform the Amsterdam Chamber within the space of one month, or sooner if possible.
