Saml. Archer: Samuel Archer of Morrisania (of Fordham?) : Owns the farm on which fort No. 8 stood -- Same remains yet. The place was called Fordham before John Archer obtained the manor. The title deeds of the manor are lost. (S.A.)

Nicholas Berrien of Fordham: Jim Knapp when he found Delancey was going to hang him, said, "General, if you and your corps were hanged for every horse you have stolen, where would you be?" N.B.

of the Americans under S. Pull and Parsons near No. 8. This brook runs through Andrew Corsa's farm. It passes through the middle of the Refugees settlement. -- Is apt to be swelled in the winter. It commences about a mile above Mr Andrew Corsa's. Robert Hunts about three quarters of a mile below West Farms -- Mr. Leggett's nearly two miles below.
