John B. Pearse, Mrs. A. W. Church and others. which were held yesterday, afternoon and evening. at the American Art Galleries, ran up a total of $11,271. The sale concludes this afternoon. The most important sale last night was the two-volume "Catalogue of the Morgan Collection of Chinese Porce lains," privately printed by J. Pierpont Morgan and one of only 250 copies, which was purchased by Robert Amma dale for $470. The magnificently bound volume "J. B. Isabey, Sa Vie. Son Temps, 1767-1855," by Basily-Callimaki. having twenty-two miniatures on ivery, hy Miss Currie on covers. was sold to William K. Wordsworth for $140. G. A. Ball was the suecesful bidder for tiie extra illustraled work in six vol umes with 300 engraved portraits and 100 original letters and documents, cn titled "Battles and Leaders of the Civil War." edited by Robert Under? wood Johnson and Clarence Clough Buel. The price was $425. Another copy of the latter was acquired bv Jo? aeph R. Smythe for $415.
