Hudson River North to Croton Point — Robert Havell Jr. (1851)

Oil painting by Robert Havell Jr. showing the Hudson River looking north toward Croton Point. Havell, famous for engraving Audubon's 'Birds of America,' painted this during the peak of Robert Underhill's vineyard operation at Croton Point — then the largest vineyard in America, covering 75 acres with Isabella and Catawba grapes. This is one of the earliest artistic depictions of Croton Point.
