The Great Receiving Reservoir, Yorkville (1842)

Hand-colored lithograph of the Croton Aqueduct's receiving reservoir at Yorkville (now the site of Central Park's Great Lawn). This was where Croton water first arrived in Manhattan after its 41-mile journey.
