John M. McDonald interview — 1846-09-03
From the Westchester County Historical Society catalog:
Morris Ketchum (1796-1880), “on the authority of Major Chapman,” tells John Macdonald that the American officers who were present while British Major John André was imprisoned in Tappan, New York, gave the latter “every facility” to escape. The question mark that Macdonald adds to the statement seems to show his skepticism of this claim.
