John M. McDonald interview — 1847-11-17

From the Westchester County Historical Society catalog:
James Sutton (1760-1849) notes that he was a member of Captain Vermille’s militia company. Abijah Harris was the lieutenant of this company. Sutton states that Harris was from Bedford, but he does not know where Vermille was from.

Novr. 17th James Sutton, of Bedford aged 88: “I was in Capt. Vermille’s company of militia of which Abijah Harris was Lieut. A man was here trying to get a pension for the [his] widow. Harris and the man ^his men were from Bedford. I do not know where Vermille was from originally. Probably from below.”
