Tompkins, George Washington

John M. McDonald interview — 1845-09-11

From the Westchester County Historical Society catalog:
Washington Tompkins is likely George Washington Tompkins (1777-1860). Here, Tompkins comments on an interview held with Abraham Miller that took place on September 11, 1845 (also on Hufeland Index Page 136). He notes that the British advance northward from White Plains after the Battle of White Plains originated from Chatterton Hill.
