" With respect to Major André's
capture, I have my information from
old Mr. Wildey who owned the ground
where it occurred on both sides of the
road J: The capture was made south
of André's brook and west of the old
road, and they took him across for
examination.
Nov. 16th. Nathaniel Baylies
Esq: "I was well acquainted with
Isaac Van Wart and drew his will. …
We then took
him across the road to the east side
south of the brook, where there is now
an orchard, and there examined
him, &c. What took place afterwards you know already. They
stopped at Isaac Reade Tavern,
