Motor Vehicle Accident
September 13, 2026 – 11:12 AM · Route 9 South
Police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving injuries. EMS responded and several occupants were transported to Phelps Hospital and Westchester Medical Center. A tow truck responded to remove the vehicle, and an accident report was completed.
Civil Dispute
September 13, 2026 – 5:40 PM · Albany Post Road
Police responded to a report of an individual refusing to leave a business. Officers spoke with the involved parties, and the individual agreed to leave the business without further incident.
Fire Alarm
September 14, 2026 – 9:01 AM · Half Moon Bay Drive
Police and the Fire Department responded to a residential fire alarm. Con Edison was also notified and responded to the location.
Welfare Check
September 14, 2026 – 1:39 PM · Batten Road
Police responded to a request for a welfare check on an 88-year-old resident after a family member became concerned when she stopped responding to phone calls. EMS was requested and the resident was evaluated.
Property Damage
September 15, 2026 – 8:46 AM · Van Wyck Street
Police investigated damage to an electronic message board located inside the Municipal Building. A patrol supervisor reviewed security camera footage and identified the source of the damage.
Motor Vehicle Accident
September 15, 2026 – 6:26 PM · Mount Airy Road
Police responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident. EMS was requested after an airbag deployed, and one vehicle was towed from the scene. An accident report was completed.
Vehicle Lockout
September 16, 2026 – 7:51 PM · Veterans Plaza
Police responded to a report of a person locked out of their vehicle. Patrols responded and gained entry. A vehicle lockout waiver was completed.
Suspicious Vehicle
September 16, 2026 – 8:18 PM · Thompson Avenue
Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near a residence. Officers spoke with the operator, who explained he was working for Con Edison and reserving parking spaces for scheduled work. The operator was confirmed to be working in the area.
Suspicious Incident
September 17, 2026 – 12:11 PM · Van Wyck Street
Police received a report from a resident contacted by an individual claiming she had won a large sum of money. The caller was asked to provide $500 using a Green Dot card to cover taxes. The resident did not provide any money and was advised to disregard further contact.
Fraud / Suspicious Incident
September 17, 2026 – 8:36 PM · Police HQ
Police assisted with a reported scam involving an individual who claimed there was a warrant for his arrest. The victim was instructed to send money through electronic payment services. Police coordinated with authorities in Virginia and the victim was later located safely.
Motor Vehicle Accident
September 18, 2026 – 1:42 PM · Old Post Road South
Police responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. EMS responded and transported the injured person to Westchester Medical Center. Officers continued investigating the incident and were provided with additional information regarding the vehicle involved.
Welfare Check
September 18, 2026 – 5:51 PM · South Riverside Avenue
Police responded to a report of a woman who appeared to be intoxicated while inside a business with three children. Patrols located the woman and her children in the parking lot and remained on scene until they were picked up without incident.

Police, Fire Department personnel, and EMS responded to a single-vehicle accident on Route 9 South. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver and passengers were evaluated by EMS.

A resident reported an earlier motor vehicle accident in which another vehicle allegedly struck her vehicle and left the scene. The incident was documented for informational purposes
