To: From: Date: August 24, 2025 Re: Policies for Consideration: Gift & Donations and Naming Following the discussion held by the Board in June 2025 regarding the naming policy for Village streets and facilities, I have updated the policy document with a number of changes. These changes are as follows: 1) A section detailing the process by which someone can request an honorary street naming has been added. 2) A section regarding the placement of monuments and memorials on Village property has been added. Both sections require that a letter of request be filed with the Village Manager, who will prepare the materials for the Village Board to review as part of a regular board meeting. The sections also provide for the Board to undertake additional review (e.g., send the request to the Village Historian) before making a final decision and state that the Board may deny the request if it is found to be in the best interest of the Village. The idea of a separate policy outlining gifts and donations also came out of the June work session discussion and that policy has been included here for consideration as well. This policy would cover small donations (such as benches and trees) and would include a consultation by the Recreation Advisory Committee for any items that would be placed in Village parks. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding these policy documents. Thank you. Mayor Brian Pugh Trustees Nora Moriarty Nicholson Cara Politi Len Simon Maria F.
