Re: Request for Waiver of Building-Use and Custodial Fees
Dear Members of the Board of Education:
On behalf of the Croton Harmon Arts, Music, Performance (CHAMP) Boosters, Inc., I respectfully request
that CHAMP be granted a waiver of building-use and, where permitted, custodial fees for
CHAMP-sponsored, district-approved events held at Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School, Pierre Van
Cortlandt Middle School, or Croton-Harmon High School during the 2026-27 school year.
This request specifically includes our Art Room Tile Fundraiser, scheduled to take place at Carrie E.
Tompkins Elementary School on January 15, February 12, and February 26, 2027. Participating families
will design and paint ceiling tiles for display in the CET art room through an event organized in
partnership with CET art teacher Brie LaFuente.
CHAMP is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit booster organization serving students and arts programs
throughout the Croton-Harmon Union Free School District, from kindergarten through grade 12. Our
mission is to support and strengthen the arts within the Croton-Harmon schools by funding core program
needs, enhancing student opportunities, and promoting vibrant arts education. Through fundraising,
community engagement, advocacy, and student showcases, we work to ensure that all students have
access to high-quality arts experiences and enrichment.
Because CHAMP's work directly benefits district students, educators, and arts programs, waiving these
fees will allow the funds raised through our events to go directly toward our mission and our support of
arts education across the district. CHAMP will continue to submit the required building-use application for
each event and comply with all district scheduling, supervision, insurance, and facility-use requirements.
Thank you for your consideration and for your continued support of the arts in the Croton-Harmon
schools.
