Local Law Intro 17 of 2025
I am requesting that the Village Board update the provisions related to the establishment of a lien for
unsafe buildings in Chapter 90 of the Village Code.
This section of the Code currently references the Village Assessor, a position that no longer exists,
and also does not include a process by which the property owner can file an appeal. These changes
will standardize this section of the code with other sections that allow for the imposition of a tax lien.
