To: From: Date: January 2, 2026 Re: Recreation Advisory Committee Recommendations I have received a number of recommendations from the Recreation Advisory Committee that were discussed at their last meeting held on December 8, 2025. Please see below for a summary: 1. Installation of AED at Black Rock Park: The RAC unanimously supported the installation of an AED at Black Rock Park. Due to unreliable cell service and the age of those using the bocce courts, having an AED unit installed might prove to be a lifesaving initiative. The RAC requests this be approved and purchased as soon as possible. 2. Black Rock Dog Park Hours: The RAC requests that school district residents be allowed to apply and use the park for an additional fee. No more than 12 school district residents would be permitted to register and applicants would be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. The RAC also requests that the weekend hours at the park be extended to 6 p.m. (currently the park closes at 4 p.m.). 3. CPR/First Aid Course: The RAC recommends that a CPR/First Aid course be scheduled by the Recreation Department for residents at a nominal fee. The training would provide an immediate and possibly lifesaving skill to our residents should an emergency arise before our emergency responders arrive.
