To: From: Date: January 5, 2026 Re: Update on Renewable Diesel Pilot I wanted to provide an update to the Village Board on the renewable diesel pilot program that the DPW has been managing. As I wrote to you originally on August 13, 2025, the pilot program was developed in coordination with the Village’s Sustainability Committee to determine if this fuel would be compatible with Village vehicles. After running the pilot program for the past three months, I am pleased to share that it has been a success and we plan to switch all Village vehicles to renewable diesel by January 9. Croton-on- Hudson is one of the first municipalities in Westchester County to adopt this cleaner technology for its fleet. The Sustainability Committee has calculated that, based on our fleet’s annual diesel usage, the Village will see an annual reduction of approximately 186 metric tons of CO2 per year. That accounts for roughly 12.5% of the Village’s total carbon footprint. I want to thank Lindsay Audin from the Sustainability Committee for developing this initiative and Frank Balbi and John Bouchard from the Dept. of Public Works for implementing it.
