On motion of TRUSTEE ___, seconded by TRUSTEE ____, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on- Hudson, New York, with a – vote. Resolution # 231-2023 WHEREAS, Chapter 197-15 of the Village Code, Snow and Ice on Sidewalks, provides for the property owner or lessee to keep the adjoining sidewalk free from snow and ice, subject to certain parameters specified in the law; and WHEREAS, Chapter 197-15, subsection D, provides for the Village to cause the snow and ice to be removed from the sidewalk if not done by the homeowner within the prescribed 12-hour period; and WHEREAS, Chapter 197-15, subsection E, provides for the Village to charge the property owner for the cost of the removal of the snow and ice; and WHEREAS, last year, the Village contracted with La Teja Contractors & Landscaping, Inc. to perform this work; and WHEREAS, La Teja has presented the following rates for snow removal services for the 2023-2024 winter season: $85/hour for snow shoveling, $100/hour for snow blowing, $165/hour for using a skid steer, and $50/bag for use of calcium chloride, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with La Teja Contractors & Landscaping, Inc. for snow removal services for the 2023-2024 winter season.
