On motion of TRUSTEE ___, seconded by TRUSTEE ____, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton- on-Hudson, New York, with a - vote. Resolution #263-2023 WHEREAS the Volunteer Fire Department Length of Service Award Program (“LOSAP”) was approved by referendum in 2003; and WHEREAS Article 11-a of the General Municipal Law (“GML”) authorizes the Village, as LOSAP Sponsor, to amend the LOSAP; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson adopted a resolution on June 26, 2023, authorizing a public referendum to seek approval to increase the years of service credit that can be earned by a volunteer under the LOSAP program from twenty (20) to forty (40) years and increase the monthly service award to $30 for years of service credit earned after 2023; and WHEREAS, the referendum was held on November 7, 2023, and was approved by a majority of the electorate; and WHEREAS, the provisions of a service award program regarding firefighter participation, benefits earned and paid, and program operation must be formally stated in a written “Plan Document” and adopted by the Village Board, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board hereby adopts the Croton Volunteer Fire Department Service Award Program Plan Document attached hereto.
