On motion of TRUSTEE ---, seconded by TRUSTEE ---, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton- on- Hudson, New York with a - vote. Resolution #30-2026 WHEREAS, in 2025, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Board of Trustees requested home rule legislation to enact an occupancy tax on hotel and motel rooms; and WHEREAS, this tax, which is statutorily set at 3%, would also be levied upon short- term rentals within the Village; and WHEREAS, Governor Kathy Hochul signed the legislation requested by the Village into law on October 16, 2025; and WHEREAS, the home rule legislation was discussed at a work session held on December 3, 2025; and WHEREAS, Local Law Introductory No. 4 of 2026 has been drafted for such purposes; and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was opened and closed on February 18, 2026, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustees hereby adopts Local Law Introductory No. 4 of 2026 to amend Chapter 204, Taxation, of the Village Code to enact an occupancy tax on hotel and motel rooms, which upon adoption will become Local Law No. 4 of 2026.
