The Police Advisory Commitee’s year-end report, December 2023
To: The Village of Croton on Hudson’s Mayor and Board of Trustees.
The Police advisory commitee met January – June, and September – December
2023.
January – June:
January – February:
• The Commitee prepared for the March 2023 community survey, rewriƟng
the previous surveys to beter address the concerns of the community.
• Discussed and ulƟmately asked the Village Board of Trustees to support
addiƟonal officers in their budget discussions.
March – June:
• Review survey results and analysis. Prepare to discuss at the May Townhall.
• The PAC made several atempts to reach out to the Hispanic community
with no response to the outreach.
• Add student member Bryce Laemmel
• Add business community member Frankie Leon
May: The Townhall was canceled due to technical issues with the broadcast
system.
June –December:
June – September: No formal meeƟngs.
• In depth analysis of the survey
• Discussion of a Police department kickball tournament. UlƟmately not
implemented due to potenƟal for Police injuries, making them unable to
perform their duƟes.
September – October:
• Prepare for the Townhall, adjusƟng informaƟon from the canceled May
Townhall. Add informaƟon from the in-depth analysis of the survey done
during June – September 2023.

• Chief Nikitopoulos presented a report.
• Police Department and Police Advisory commitee discussion of topics of
interest to the public, as expressed on the survey.

F) Community policing
• QuesƟons from the public addressed.
November:
• Discussion of the need for formal rules and regulaƟons for the commitee to
cover civilian complaints and commitee member public discussion of issues
in the news or rumors in Croton.
• Discussion of the Police Department making short educaƟon videos for the
public.
November – December
• Police Department begins work on educaƟonal videos for the public.
• ConƟnued discussion of topics of interest for educaƟonal videos.
• Discussion of 2024 Police Advisory commitee goals.
