On motion of TRUSTEE -, seconded by TRUSTEE -, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York with the following vote: Resolution #47-2024 WHEREAS, a retaining wall currently exists on the lower side of Grand Street along the properties of 25 Grand Street and 33 Grand Street; and WHEREAS, the wall is in need of replacement as it contains cracks and a portion of it is leaning towards the street; and WHEREAS, Westchester County, in cooperation and agreement with the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, has been awarded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the amount of $59,076 for the replacement of the retaining wall; and WHEREAS, on January 18, 2024, the Village advertised for invitations to bid on these improvements (Bid #01-2024); and WHEREAS, twenty sealed bids were received at the bid opening held on February 8, 2024; and WHEREAS, the lowest apparent bidder was unresponsive to requests for information and did not submit certain required paperwork; and WHEREAS, the recommendation to award the bid to the second-lowest bidder, Catalyst Construction, LLC, of Middletown, New York, has been made by Suzette Lopane, Principal Planner at the Westchester County Department of Planning, in the amount of $236,565.30, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board authorizes the Village Manager to award the bid to Catalyst Construction, LLC in the amount of $236,565.30.
