This event has consistently proven to be beneficial for our community, providing vital support to businesses during the challenging winter months. As you are likely aware, businesses are still in recovery and survival mode from Covid, and from the increase in cost of goods overall. Every event like this is a shot in the arm for our local economy. We propose hosting Oktoberfest 2024 on Saturday, October 5 from 12-6 pm, with a rain date set for October 12. To accommodate the event, we again request the closure of Grand Street from Mt Airy to the Dummy Light, allowing traffic to reroute from the other side of Grand onto Old Post Road South. Additionally, we hope to use the village senior bus to transport attendees to and from Croton Harmon, which will help manage traffic and parking concerns effectively. The CBC also requests the use of the stage for the event and we are also very thankful for the village's support regarding the financial support that Bryan Healy mentioned, in the Spring business meetings, would be set aside for Oktoberfest 2024.
