To: From: Date: December 16, 2024 Re: Local Law Introductory No. 16 of 2024 I have drafted Local Law Introductory No. 16 of 2024 to make a few clarifications to Chapter 135, Garbage, Rubbish and Littering, of the Village Code. The first clarification is to codify the requirement that garbage containers not be place curbside before 5 p.m. the night before pickup. The proposed local law will also codify the requirement that containers be placed curbside no later than 7 a.m. on the morning of pickup. The proposed local law will also increase the container size that may be placed curbside from 20 gallons to 45 gallons. Finally, the last change proposed by the local law will require all garbage bags to be placed in containers curbside. I have reviewed the above changes with Superintendent of Public Works Frank Balbi and we are both in support of the local law as written. Please let me know if you have any questions.
