On motion of TRUSTEE -, seconded by TRUSTEE -, the following resolution was 
adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York 
with the following vote:  
 
Resolution #190-2025 
 
WHEREAS, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, having been established in an area 
with hilly terrain, has seen hundreds of retaining walls constructed over the past 
decades; and 
 
WHEREAS, the Village is committed to safeguarding the health and welfare of its 
residents; and 
 
WHEREAS, the Village is desirous of establishing an inspection regime for retaining 
wall over a certain height to ensure their stability; and 
 
WHEREAS, Local Law Introductory No. 11 of 2025 has been drafted for such 
purposes, 
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustees hereby 
schedules a Public Hearing to be held on September 10, 2025, at 7:30 PM in the 
Georgianna Grant Meeting Room of the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building 
to consider the adoption of Local Law Introductory No. 11 of 2025 to create a new 
Chapter 188, Retaining Walls, Maintenance and Repair of, in the Village Code.
