On motion of TRUSTEE____________, seconded by TRUSTEE _______, the
following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of
Croton-on-Hudson, New York:
Resolution #176-2026
WHEREAS, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson acquired the Kaplan’s Pond
property on Lounsbury Road in 1991; and
WHEREAS, the Village has undertaken various projects over the years to improve
the area around the pond, including the replacement of the outlet structure and the
construction of a new emergency spillway in 2005; and
WHEREAS, since 2016, a contractor has managed invasive species, including
phragmites, at the pond; and
WHEREAS, to properly plan for the long-term viability of Kaplan’s Pond, a
comprehensive water and health assessment has been requested, as well as an
assessment of the pond’s earthen berm,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustees
hereby authorizes the Village Manager to accept the proposal from Princeton
Hydro Engineering in the amount of $8,500; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Village Treasurer is authorized the make
the following budget transfer in the 2026-2027 General Fund Budget:
