On motion of TRUSTEE -, seconded by TRUSTEE -, the following resolution was
adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York
with the following vote:
Resolution #177-2026
WHEREAS, on May 22, 2024, the HEART Committee was established by the
Village Board of Trustees to identify and honor individuals and entities who have
contributed meaningfully to the Croton-on-Hudson community; and
WHEREAS, since that time, the HEART Committee has met regularly and hosted a
number of events and ceremonies to recognize their honorees; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board would like to have the HEART Committee serve in
an ad-hoc role moving forward, choosing honorees when called upon to do so,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the HEART Committee is hereby re-
established as an ad-hoc committee to honor Croton residents, businesses, or groups,
either living or deceased, who have significantly contributed to the betterment of our
Village; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that members of the newly re-established committee
shall be appointed by the Mayor as needed and have no official terms; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustee shall call upon the
HEART Committee to choose an honoree at least once annually, with the plan for
such ceremony to be approved by the Village Manager; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustees shall play no part
in determining future honorees for the HEART Committee.
