These grants are due on July 31, 2026. There are a few grants the Village may want to consider that align with its priority projects. They include the following: 1) Climate Smart Communities Total Funds - $17 million Maximum Request: $2,000,000 Match: A local match of 50% of the total project cost is required Eligible Projects: Sidewalk projects must include the addition of trees, stormwater plantings (plantings to attenuate stormwater such as bioswales, rain gardens, stormwater planters, permeable pavers, biofiltration, sand filters, etc.), or other green infrastructure enhancements to reduce climate impacts (extreme heat, stormwater). Potential Village Projects: Installation of new sidewalks 2) New York State Water Infrastructure Improvement (WIIA) Total Funds - $425 million Maximum Request: $5,000,000 Match: A local match of 30% of the total project cost is required Eligible Projects: New water mains or relining projects. Potential Village Projects: Water infrastructure upgrades along Harrison Street and Sunset Trail 3) Environmental Protection Fund Total Funds - $28.75million Maximum Request: $675,000 Match: A local match of 50% of the total project cost is required Monthly Grant Update June 22, 2026 Eligible Projects: Design and engineering park facilities. Potential Village Projects: Design and engineering of Gouveia Park Community Center 4) Water Quality Improvement Grant Total Funds - $75 million Maximum Request: $600,000 Match: A local match of 25% of the total project cost is required Eligible Projects: New salt storage shed. Potential Village Projects: Relocation and construction of salt storage shed Village Projects Identified for Funding Priorities in 2026 In consultation with the Village Manager as well as the review of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson’s Departmental Capital requests, and other priority projects identified by the Village Board, the following projects have been identified for potential funding. 1. Gouveia Park Improvements 2. Fire Department – Facility upgrades, Equipment (exclusion of trucks), and Personal Protective Equipment 3. Police Department – Equipment 4. Senior Transportation Vehicle 5. Water System Improvements 6. Shoreline Resiliency - Senasqua Park 7. New sidewalks 8. Salt shed relocation 9. Train station parking flood resiliency project 2026 Awards The Village received funding for the following projects: 1. Westchester County Complete Streets Grant - $353,000 for the complete streets sidewalk project on Municipal Place and South Riverside. Pending Funding Requests NPV also submitted additional projects for funding, and those applications are still pending. These pending projects are identified below. 1. NYS DOT Transportation Alternatives Program – New sidewalks along Cleveland Drive 2. Westchester County Stormwater Grant – For the engineering and design work for the installation of a flood wall at the train station parking lot. It is anticipated that this grant will be submitted by June to the County. 3. NY PLAYS - Submitted a grant for the Harrison Park Playground. Monthly Grant Update June 22, 2026 Current Grant Applications NPV is working on the following grant applications: 1. NY Forward – An initial meeting took place to discuss the NY Forward boundary area and projects.
