On motion of TRUSTEE____________, seconded by TRUSTEE _______, the
following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of
Croton-on-Hudson, New York:
Resolution #161-2026
WHERAES, from time to time, students have served in an official or unofficial
role on the advisory committees in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board of Trustees is desirous of establishing guidelines
for students to officially participate on advisory committees; and
WHEREAS, the topic was discussed at a work session held by the Village Board
on June 24, 2026,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustees
hereby adopts the following guidelines for student members on advisory
committees:
• Student members shall be permitted to serve on the Arts & Humanities
Advisory Council, Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee, Conservation Advisory
Council, HEART Committee, IDEA Advisory Committee, Police Advisory
Committee, Recreation Advisory Committee and Sustainability Committee.
• No more than one student member for committees authorized to have seven
or less members, and no more than two student members for other advisory
committees.
• Student members shall serve as non-voting members of the advisory
committees.
• Student members shall be juniors or seniors in high school to be appointed.
• Student members shall reside within the Village of Croton-on-Hudson to be
appointed.
• Student members shall be recommended by their guidance counselor or
other school official and have parental permission to be appointed.
• Student member terms shall be for one year and run from September 1 to
August 31.
• Student members shall adhere to the community guidelines adopted by the
Village Board, including attendance requirements.
