To: From: Date: June 6, 2024 Re: Street Vendor License Survey On May 28, 2024, the Village sent a survey by email and U.S. Mail to the businesses located in the Upper Village. A total of 32 businesses and organizations were surveyed; 14 provided responses. 10 responses indicated that they were not in favor of Saturday vending; four responses indicated that they were in favor of Saturday vending. Some of the feedback that was provided in the survey responses: ➢ “I think street vending will allow local businesses a better opportunity to serve the community.” ➢ “I don’t agree with it.” ➢ “Do not think we should give up more parking in the Upper Village.” ➢ “We are very happy to support the Village of Croton in any way possible.” ➢ “Allowing vendors in the street takes away much-needed parking spots all day, and gives an unfair advantage to a select few.” ➢ “This will not help my business.” ➢ “Street vending in front of a local business can be a great idea for several reasons: increased foot traffic, complementary offerings, enhanced customer experience, community engagement, economic benefits, diverse offerings, and promotional opportunities.” ➢ “This will have a negative impact on my business.” ➢ “It is nice to have a vibrant Upper Village that encourages business and allows residents and visitors alike to socialize and enjoy our lovely town.” ➢ “Not interested as this will not help my business.” ➢ “It would take up too much of the parking spaces as they’re already is a shortage.” ➢ “This interrupts our regular business as customers will have a hard time finding parking on Saturday.” Mayor Brian Pugh Trustees Nora Moriarty Nicholson Ian Murtaugh Cara Politi Len Simon Village Manager Bryan T.
