Memo dated May 22, 2026 from Superintendent of Public Works Frank Balbi recommending award of the Tree Trimming and Removal contract (Bid #03-2026) to New England Property Maintenance of Mahopac, NY, the lowest responsible bidder at $46,000; the other bid, from Almstead, was $69,800. The contractor currently performs tree service for the Village, and funding is included in the FY 26/27 operating budget account A8560.4000.

To: From: Frank Balbi, P.E., Superintendent of Public Works CC: Date: May 22, 2026 Re: Tree Trimming and Removal contract Bid # 03-2026 - Project award Annually, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson contracts with a tree service provider in order to aid in the trimming and removal of Village owned trees. This work is in support of the Department of Public Works regular tree maintenance, and is used for trees that are above our equipment capacity. On April 30, 2026, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson advertised for invitations to bid on the Tree Trimming and removal project (Bid # 03-2026). On March 18, 2026, two bids were received and publicly read. The following results were returned: Bid Results: Bidder Bid Amount 1. New England Property Maintenance $ 46,000 2. Almstead $ 69,800 The lowest responsible bid was submitted by New England Property Maintenance, P.O. Box 224, Mahopac, NY 10541. New England Property Maintenance is the current contractor performing tree service for the Village. They have been very responsive and prompt in their work. I recommend approving New England Property Maintenance’s proposal for the Tree Trimming and Removal contract in the amount of $46,000.00.
