Re:
Chicha Fest
At the request of a local business owner who was to be a vendor at the event, the Village approved a
permit for a music festival at Senasqua Park on Sunday, August 28. The Village has previously rented
Senasqua Park to Village businesses.
DPW and Police brought in staff on overtime for the event; the overtime cost was paid by the event
organizer.
The event attendance was projected to be 275-500 people, in line with previous summer concerts;
however, the attendance was larger than anticipated and resulted in traffic issues in the area.
Organizers charged a fee for admittance to the park which was not authorized. The Village will look
to issue a code violation for this action.
Police monitored noise levels throughout the day and asked organizers to lower volume when
necessary.
Staff, in consultation with the Village Board, will be meeting to review policies and procedures in
place to make improvements where necessary.
