Village Manager Healy, Mayor Pugh and Board of Trustees,
Please see the below letter from Sgt. Corey Velardo. I acknowledged and
approve of this request.
Chief John H. Nikitopoulos
Croton Police Department
I, Sgt. Corey Velardo, was recently contacted by Police Officer Delgado of
the Yorktown Police Department inquiring about our Department’s Bicycle
Unit. P.O. Delgado was seeking advice and general knowledge of our unit,
as his Department is in the beginning stages of starting a bicycle unit in
Yorktown. P.O. Delgado also inquired if Croton PD, or any Department in
our area that I knew of, had bicycles to donate or sell to help set about the
launch of a Yorktown Bicycle Unit. At this time, the Croton PD currently has
two older model Fuji Mountain Bikes that are in poor yet repairable
condition. I am respectfully requesting the Village of Croton donate these
two bikes to the Yorktown PD to help with their cause, as we have always
had a great standing relationship with our neighboring Departments.
