From: Frank Balbi To: Cc: Scott Marsh Subject: DEP process for removing Dam stones from their property Date: Friday, September 8, 2023 3:02:28 PM I spoke with a representative from the NYC DEP regarding the large stones located on their property.  These are the general points we discussed:   A formal letter from the Village requesting the stones is required.  This letter should detail the reasons for removing the stone, as well as the method we would be using While the stones are of historical significance to the Village, the area also significant to the DEP If we are allowed to remove some of the stones, it would have to wait until the ground is more solid (during the winter) If permission is granted, the NYC DEP is not allowed to donate the stones without approval from their managing board.  I am not sure what the exact process is for this, but she informed me it is lengthy and will take a decent amount of time. We could purchase the stones, but it would have to be at a public auction.   I can get more detailed information if needed, but I would like to make sure we are interested in moving forward.   Best Regards,   Frank Balbi, P.E.
