The Executive Committee of NWEAC supports the resolution prepared by
the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson entitled :
” Proposed Resolution on the Tappan Zee Bridge”
In addition to the resolution language below,
including public transportation in the TZB Replacement is
consistent with and advances the purposes of numerous state, county
and federal government policies aimed at reducing dependence on
foreign oil, air pollution and the emission of greenhouse gases,
including the New York State Climate Action Plan, the Westchester
Action Plan for Climate Change, and federal goals enshrined in the
Clean Air Act, the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient
Transportation Equity Act, Executive Order 13514……
NWEAC, as a major participant in the Mid-Hudson Region planning process
aimed at economic development and job growth, supports the improved
transportation and communication between Westchester and Rockland that
the new TZ bridge will provide.
The 14 Municipalities and 230,000 people of NWEAC are responding to the
resolution’s call for collaboration and we look forward to helping in any
way that we can.
