Project Update Capital Project Update DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS 10-15-2025 Brook Street Drainage Improvement – • Construction drawings have been developed by the engineering firm • SEQR and LWRP have been approved • Waiting for response from Westchester County regarding our funding request Cleveland Drive Resurfacing – • Federal funding approved for the resurfacing of Cleveland Drive (between Benedict and Gerstein) • Additional roads to be resurfaced: Wood Road (Gerstein to 129), Gerstein (Wood to Cleveland), Old Post Road South (Cleveland to High School) • Plans and specifications have been developed by the engineering firm, and currently being reviewed by NYS DOT. • Meeting with design firm scheduled tomorrow to review NYS comments. Walkway to Ossining – • Material has been delivered to the site • Village welder has been working on replacement of damaged/worn out railing • Project completion expected by the middle of December Farrington Road Steps – • The replacement of the concrete staircase has been designed, and was bid in June of 2025 • All bids received were much higher than the funding budgeted for this project ($150,000) • This project will be re-bid during the winter of 2025/2026 with anticipated construction to take place in the spring of 2026. 2025 General Road repairs and Sidewalks – • The 2025 resurfacing program was completed in September • Roadways paved this year: Scenic Drive West (9A to Baltic), Lower North Highland (OPRN to Ackerman), Cleveland Drive (Benedict to Piney Point), and Penfield (Benedict to Oneida) • Sidewalks completed so far located at the dead end of Thompson, and Whelen (near Oneida) • Additional sidewalks being considered for installation by the end of the year Half Moon Bay Bridge – • The Village has hired a design firm to develop plans and specifications for the rehabilitation of the bridge • Engineering firm has completed initial construction plans • Since this bridge crosses the railroad track, the plans are being reviewed by Metro-North Municipal Building Improvements – • Bids received for HVAC improvements were higher than the funding available for this project • DPW working with HVAC contractors to perform most sensitive areas first • Work anticipated after the EMS addition is completed • Concept plan for Engineering Department improvements has been developed. Project Update Traffic Light Replacement – • Traffic signals on South Riverside Avenue are being updated at the intersections of Croton Point Avenue and Benedict Blvd. • Waiting for proposals for material and equipment from the vendor. Once these are received, we can start scheduling work with the electrical contractor. OPRN Traffic Study – • Design firm analyzing OPRN in the vicinity of Michaels Lane for traffic and pedestrian safety • Traffic counts have been taken, and conceptual plans are being developed • Progress meeting with the design firm has been scheduled to discuss design options and proposed schedule moving forward Water Main Relining – • Continuation of water infrastructure improvement project • Complaints of brown water in the area make this the next candidate for re-lining • Currently in design. Once in design, plans must be reviewed by Westchester County for approval Grand Street Firehouse Upgrades – • Proposed replacement of ceiling tiles in the Chemical Engine day-room • Replacing the kitchen floor • AC in the ladder day-room, the radio room and the chief’s office have been updated EMS addition at Harmon Firehouse – • Working on finishes throughout the building. This includes installation of ceiling grid, flooring, paint, cabinets, etc. PD Renovation – • Bathroom in Detective Division in design (for juvenile protection) • Gathering construction estimates for separate entrance into Detective Division (also for juvenile protection) Washington Engine Parking – • Retaining wall is complete. Remainder of the site work ongoing • Asphalt binder should be installed by the end of this year • Final pavement in the spring of 2026 Dobbs Baseball Infield Improvements – • Awaiting the remainder of insurance documents from the contractor • Fencing material is ordered, and we are scheduling with the fencing contractor with is work Dobbs Playground and Basketball Court Renovation – • Bids have been received • Pre-construction walk-through with the contractor is scheduled for this week • Playground equipment has been ordered. We are expecting delivery in approximately 8 weeks Department of Public Works Project Update Gouveia Park Improvements – • Sewer line crossing Albany Post Road has been installed • Architect has completed the conceptual design and is working on the construction drawings • Site work will start after the completion of EMS addition DPW Solar Canopy Project – • One bid received • The contractor has not submitted required documentation, so bids are expected to be rejected • Project will go out to bid again EV Chargers at Train Station – • Contractor is reviewing the contract documents • Village will be working with a contractor to schedule the excavation and concrete work for the conduit and EV chargers. • Village DPW will be responsible for the restoration of the area and re-striping the parking spots. Food Scrap Program – • A new shed has been delivered to the train station parking lot directly behind the salt shed • This shed is larger than the current structure being used for this program • Plans to expand the program Renewable Diesel Pilot Program– • Renewable diesel delivered to the Village fueling station on 9-23-2025 • 4 Village vehicles currently in the pilot program • We are planning to expand the pilot program in the next two weeks • Currently, no issues reported using the new diesel Shoreline Resiliency and Flood Mitigation – • Conceptual plans have been developed • Grant writer contacting Westchester County to inquire about potential of funding Train Station Solar Canopy Project – • Construction is complete • Contractor is expecting to be powered on some time in November
