TO: Board of Trustees FROM: Abe Zambrano DATE: October 7, 2011 RE: Unibank “U#IPAYDIRECT” credit card acceptance Several months ago, we started to investigate options to offer our residents to pay tax and other fees with credit cards. Janine King, Sandra Bullock and I have had several meeting with Unibank, who has an excelling working relationship with MUNIS and Virtual Town Hall. Unibank’s online tax and fee collection services will enable our tax payers to remit taxes using debit and credit cards or make electronic ACH transaction to pay for taxes and other Village Fees. If the Village Board authorizes the signing of the attached agreement, village residents and tax payers will be able to pay property taxes and water and sewer rents through a system that would entail the Village providing relevant information from our MUNIS system and available through our web site. The ability to pay other Village fees will be added in the future. The attached agreement for the provision of online tax and fee collection services through Unibank’s UNIPAYDIRECT system has been reviewed by our Village attorney and meets all necessary requirements in NYS. As of today, there are still a couple of minor items that need clarification from Unibank. We anticipate having those items finalized before we bring the contract for your approval.
