WC leaf blower ban brings quiet to municipalities
(06/01/11) YONKERS - Residents in 16 Westchester
communities will be able to sleep a bit easier as a ban on noisy
leaf blowers goes into effect today.
The effort to cut down on noise and pollution lasts
until Oct. 1 in communities where the ban has
been implemented. Those communities include:
Bronxvillle, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings, Larchmont,
Mamaroneck Town, Mamaroneck Village, New
Rochelle, Pelham Manor, Pelham Village, Rye,
Scarsdale, Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown, Tuckahoe,
White Plains and Yonkers.
Anyone caught using a leaf blowers in the listed
communities faces a $250 fine.
