Building Inspector/Assessor Joseph Sperber Fire Inspector Peter Anfiteatro Date: June 8, 2011 Re: 7 Ackerman Court Sec. 67.20 Block 3 Lot 34.03 Request for Building Permit Extension – Permit #20090001 We have received a request for an extension of the above-referenced building permit for a new single family residence. Due to the extenuating circumstances that are described in the attached letter, the property owner Brian Fitzpatrick and his contractor were unable to complete the work under this building permit by the expiration date of January 5, 2011. The attached letter from the architect indicates that the work is expected to be completed by the first week of July. Based on this anticipated completion date, it is recommended that the Building Permit be extended seven months until August 5, 2011. It should also be noted that the neighbor directly across the street has complained a few times about the condition of the property and also about the length of time that the construction has been ongoing. It is therefore recommended that the extension of the permit be conditioned on all exterior work on the house and site being completed by August 5, 2011, with the exception of landscaping and paving of the driveway. No further extensions of the building permit should be granted without the above noted exterior work being completed by August 5, 2011. Please put this request for an extension on the Village Board agenda for Monday, June 20, 2011. DO/rlr Attachment
