In 2021, your Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department’s VOLUNTEERS answered 423 calls for service. 21 were actual structural fires either in Croton or Mutual Aid. ❚ ❛ ❜ The Top Responders were: 1) Captain Joe Kempter, 208 Alarms 2) Captain Dave Kempter, 184 Alarms 3) Lieutenant Jim Ferguson, 160 Alarms 4) Engineer Bill Gallagher, 142 Alarms 5) Firefighter Ben Farber, 136 Alarms 6) Firefighter Jake Dominello, 128 Alarms 7) Firefighter Frank Pusatere, 126 Alarms 8: Captain Dave Altamura, 120 Alarms 9) Firefighter Hal Lockwood, 117 Alarms 10) Deputy Chief Tex Dinkler, 108 Alarms 11) Firefighter Matt Mallory, 102 Alarms 12) Deputy Chief Bill Vlad, 92 Alarms ❚ ❛ ❜ Our Chiefs answered a sizable amount of alarms, too: Car 2081: Phil Dinkler, 196 Alarms Car 2082: John Munson, 258 Alarms Car 2083: Josh Karpoff, 128 Alarms ❚ ❛ ❜ Our units responded to the following amount of alarms this past year: E118: 181 Alarms E119: 196 Alarms E120: 132 Alarms TL44: 111 Alarms T10: 100 Alarms R18: 161 Alarms U14: 149 Alarms U208: 89 Alarms M32: 6 Alarms ❚ ❛ ❜ The Average number of members per alarm for the year was 11. ❚ ❛ ❜ Our average arrival time to an alarm is 5 minutes, 30 seconds. ❚ ❛ ❜ We responded to / provided Mutual Aid requests to Bedford, Bedford Hills, Briarcliff, Continental Village, Mamaroneck Village, Millwood, Mohegan, Montrose, Montrose VA, Ossining, Peekskill, Port Chester, Thornwood, Verplanck and Yorktown. ❚ ❛ ❜ We received Mutual Aid assistance from Continental Village (T11), Haverstraw (4-Marine), Millwood (MA10, T15), Montrose VA (E225, R48), Ossining (FAST, E97, L41, TL42), Stony Point (18-Marine), Tarrytown (M5), Verplanck (M1) and Yorktown (T14, FAST, Dive Team). ❚ ❛ ❜ We also recieved automatic aid (boats) to assist us this past year while our boat remains out of service from Ossining PD & EMS and Westchester County PD. ❚ ❛ ❜ Other incidents we responded to include Motor-Vehicle Accidents (39), Other Fires (23), Alarms (119), Carbon Monoxide, Gas or Smoke Investigations (92) and Hazardous Conditions & Service Calls - including animal rescues (57).
