On motion of TRUSTEE____________, seconded by TRUSTEE _______, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York: Resolution #25-2022 WHEREAS, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson (‘Village”) has adopted Local Law No. 3 of 2022 to abolish the position of Village Justice effective January 1, 2023; and WHEREAS, starting January 1, 2023, all Village Code violations and Vehicle & Traffic Law infractions occurring within the boundaries of the Village be adjudicated by the Town of Cortlandt (“Town”) Justice Court; and WHEREAS, the Village has drafted a Memorandum of Understanding (“Agreement”) with the Town detailing certain aspects of the consolidation; and WHEREAS, these details include the handling of court personnel, the adjudication of Village cases, the notification of police agencies and the holding of certain arraignments at the Municipal Building, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustees hereby authorizes the Village Manager to execute the Agreement with the Town; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that such Agreement shall not be effective until 30 days after the adoption date of Local Law No. 3 of 2022.
