Re:
Update on Train Station Parking
The Mayor asked that I provide the Board with an update on the parking at the Croton-Harmon Train Station.
As everyone is aware, the parking lot at the train station remains at approximately 50% of peak usage during
pre-COVID times. Below I have put into table format what those numbers look like, revenue-wise:
FY2022
FY2021
FY2020
FY2019
Permit Revenue
(Q1-Q3)
$716,589
$669,075
$1,526,530
$1,486,800
While we are seeing a 7% increase in permit sales over this time last year, it remains far below where we were
in previous years. Below is the same information for the daily lot:
FY2022
FY2021
FY2020
FY2019
Daily Revenue
(Q1-Q3)
$553,298
$144,610
$1,376,664
$1,387,598
Daily parking has rebounded much stronger than permit parking. It is 283% higher than it was at this point last
year. However, it too remains well below what could have been expected pre-COVID.
As we begin the budget review process in the next few weeks, it will be important to monitor the trends in the
parking lot to see if the oft-mentioned “return-to-office” materializes in additional commuters. The first few
days of March has seen a slight increase in permits and a larger increase in daily parking but it is too early to
determine if these will persist.
