On motion of TRUSTEE____________, seconded by TRUSTEE _______, the following resolution was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York: Resolution #37-2022 WHEREAS, on July 6, 2020, the Village Board of Trustees adopted a resolution affirming its support for a residential parking permit system in the Harmon neighborhood on the following streets: Hastings Avenue and Young Avenue; and WHEREAS, on October 7, 2020, the legislation was signed into law by the Governor of the State of New York; and WHEREAS, the Village Board adopted Local Law 15 of 2021 on December 20, 2021, which established a residential parking permit system on portions of the aforementioned streets; and WHEREAS, the Village Board is desirous of requesting permission to extend the residential parking permit system onto a portion of Benedict Boulevard; and WHEREAS, the Village’s elected state representatives, Assemblywoman Sandra Galef and State Senator Peter Harckham, have introduced companion bills in the state legislature to extend the residential parking permit system onto a portion of Benedict Boulevard; and WHEREAS, the Village is required to formally submit a home rule request to the legislature, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Village Board of Trustees hereby requests a residential parking permit system be enacted in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson under the state’s home rule authority; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that a copy of this home rule request be sent to State Assemblywoman Sandra Galef and State Senator Peter Harckham.
