Dear Mayor and Trustees: I am pleased to inform you that the Croton-on-Harmon Bicycle-Pedestrian Committee has unanimously endorsed the proposal to lower the speed limit within village boundaries to a minimum 25 mph wherever it is not prohibited by state law. We discussed the matter at our meetings of Sept. 28 and Oct. 19. Committee members said the move will spread the safety and quality of life benefits associated with lower speed limits throughout the village as well as make the speed limit more consistent for motorists. We look forward to working with you further on this and other issues related to bicycle and pedestrian safety. Matt Arnold Chair, Croton-on-Hudson Bicycle-Pedestrian Committee
