On motion of TRUSTEE, seconded by TRUSTEE, the following resolution was
adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Croton- on-Hudson, New York,
with a - vote.
Resolution #164-2022
WHEREAS, pursuant to § 459-c of the Real Property Tax Law, the Village of
Croton-on-Hudson maintains a tax exemption for persons with disabilities at the
maximum level of 50% for qualified persons earning $19,500/year or less, and
WHEREAS, on August 8, 2022, New York State adopted legislation increasing the
amount of income property owners may earn for the purpose of eligibility for the
property tax exemption for persons with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, the option to increase the income eligibility level for the senior property
tax exemption must be exercised through adoption of a local law, ordinance, or
resolution after public hearing, and
WHEREAS, Local Law Introductory No. 16 of 2022 has been drafted to reflect such
language,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Board of Trustees hereby
schedules a Public Hearing for November 21, 2022, at 7:00 PM in the Georgianna
Grant Meeting Room of the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building to consider
increasing the income eligibility level for the tax exemption for persons with
disabilities.
